I bought this for my boat mostly because of the waterproof feature. I like that I can focus both eyes which dramatically increases the sharpness of the viewing. It lets me see what I need to see in the horizon and the compass works but I don't really use it for navigating.
I actually tested these out and dropped them while kayaking. They do float! And the waterproofing seems to be working too. I like that it has all these features at such a nice price.
These are just what the price indicated. The glasses are all but bullet proof, Focus ring is located on each eyepiece. The rubber on the eyepiece may undergo rot. Had mine replaced under warranty fairly painless except 15$ shipping and 20$ handling. So now, I am up to 165$ for a 100$ pair of glasses. note: you cannot just buy the eyepiece rubbers it warranty all the way.
These are floating fixed glasses, they are heavy. Great optics. I enjoy the compass the range finder is different but usage is not easy but works well. The optical compass is nice..
Crystal clear viewing, very nice. The internal compass is good, the rangefinder a bit odd and complex - I don't expect to be using it!
